Comments: Undershaw is a piece of history, and the museum could easily turn a considerably profit. There are Sherlock Holmes fans all over the world, and Holmesians are well known for their pilgrimages to locations associated with Holmes and his creator. To knock Undershaw down would be an outrage not only against history and literature, but against common sense, as well; an appalling example of gross intellectual barbarism, and a missed opportunity.

Comments: Opening it as a museum would get many tourists and would not only be of service to the literary world, but would probably generate more income. History needs to be preserved which is usually done better in Great Britain than anywhere else.

Interest in his writings has never waned, and is renewed with each generation of young readers, whose love for his characters stays with them into adulthood. Please save Undershaw!

Comments: ACD is one of Britain's most eminent authors, as well as his many other contributions to the country. I urge preserving his home. I have just been reading the recent biography, ACD: A Life in Letters, which contains many letters in which he discusses building the house. Thanks for your efforts, Tom Brydges

Comments: If the destruction of this place, where some of the most popular and important works in modern English Literature were written, is allowed to go ahead then we Brits should hang our heads in shame. The fact that it is even being considered, or more to the point almost a done deal, and that we should have to fight in order to preserve it is a sad indictment of our powers that be in the councils.
