"It has been brought to our attention that this year all grade levels will be able to run for homecoming court. Confidently speaking for all seniors, we are extremely upset by this idea.

Senior year comes with privileges that underclassmen do not have, including running for homecoming court, prom, and oktoberfest. Students wait three years before they are allowed these privileges, which also adds to the excitement of senior year.

Seniors are, in a sense, kings and queens of the school. We have finally reached the social hierarchy to proudly say that we have worked hard the past four years, and can proudly shout our numbers, knowing that this is finally OUR year!

We strongly believe that homecoming court should solely be for seniors. If not the whole court, then perhaps just king and queen. Juniors, sophomores, and freshmen could run for prince and princess, each grade having a pair, seniors included. This brings a compromise if seniors cannot completely "rule" the court.
