On UNC's campus, any skateboearder that lets his wheels leave the ground can be ticketed by the police. These tickets can send you to court and  cost over three hundred dollars.

This policy is not fair to the skateboarders at UNC, especially those who are just trying to practice between classes. The policy makes skateboarding itself illegal, since this is the intended use of a skateboard. Flatground skating is no more dangerous than other activities that are allowed on campus, like playing tackle football or sliding on a longboard.

I'd like to create a designated area ON CAMPUS at UNC that allows flatground aerial tricks. This would reduce the amount of tickets handed out by UNC police and also provide students with a new place to participate in healthy activity. This facility won't cost any money to create, because all that is required is smooth, level concrete.
