   Comments: The curriculum fee is so high that it unfairly puts graduate students at a hiring disadvantage for many grants and contracts. In some cases, it is more expensive to hire a new graduate student than it is to hire some full-time benefitted staff who have MAs and years of experience. This also puts the university at a disadvatage on competitive grants and contracts. Do away with it!

    Comments: The high curriculum fee has limited my ability to fund graduate students on two separate NSF grants, which has subsequently limited important research opportunities for students. At the same time, student fees greatly impact our students' abilities to survive graduate school. We can do better.

    Comments: Please roll back the fees and reduce the curriculum fees that our avidsors have to pay for us. UMass graduate students cost so much that many of the professors in our dept are only going to hire post-docs this coming year. Reducing curriculum fees will help graduate students stay affordable.
