Ulu Wini Place is a low income community that is new to Kailua Kona.

The community's people were forgotten in the planning. 

Families with below poverty guideline incomes rely on the Bus Service as a viable part of their survival. These are single moms, the disabled, and currently unemployed, and some large families that can't get ahead with outrageous gas prices and low paying jobs.

Most have children.

Please help us to get the Heleon bus to stop at this community and provide transportation for things like food, school and recreational activities!

What if it was you? If you know the town then you know that the Industrial area in Koloko is out of town. It is miles to walk.  These people have been without transportation since December of 2011.

The nearest bus stop is nearly four miles up a huge mountainous slope on Hina Lani Street. Most can't even bike it. The other stop is the Civic Center on Kealkehe Street and it is also a few miles away.

You pretty much have to take a cab to get the bus.  This is unacceptable.
