The United Kingdom Federation of Jazz Bands was formed in 1976. Alexander Palace hosted the first World Championshops in 1974 prior to the UKFJB forming. Over the years the Marching Jazz Band Organisation has declined year on year and now it's time for all of us to try and get back on the map. Mandie from Dover has been campaining tirelessly both with the UKFJB and her local Council to take the World Championships to Dover. I'm sure there are many areas who would like to hold the World Championships however Mandie have for many many months now been trying to get the support to take the World Championships to Dover. So come on everyone it lets give Mandie the support she deserves and for one exclusive (who knows) year take the World Championships to Dover. If you agree with those of us who support Mandie please sign this petition and we'll send it up to the UKFJB Offices to see if we can make a difference. Yours in Friendship (Mandie hope you don't mind) Gill Dunstan

Philip Coupland, United Kingdom7 years ago Comments: As a former Bass drummer for the Pleasley carabiniers and also the Fusionelles and a former U.K.F.J.B judge i too would love to see the bands go and show there talents off at Dover and to put on the world championships there would be absolutely fantastic, so come on U.K.F.J.B let your members show off there talents to the rest of the country and with bands in decline you never know it may encourage other people to start bands up down that way.
