Name: Amy Pereira on Aug 5, 2011State:Country: United KingdomComments: I totally agree, prison is too good for murderers, why should the tax payers pay for them to live comfortably in prison with a playstation, tv and luxury items when they have committed such a disgusting crime. The government should realise that this is what the public want, we have voted for this and instead of just doing nothing they need to actually listen to WHAT WE WANT!!!!Flag

Name: Kimberly Anne Spry on Aug 5, 2011State: ColoradoCountry: United KingdomComments: I have lived in the UK for 5 years now, and I admit I am appalled by the number of reports of early release, light punishments for murderers, and the shocking idea of giving a murderer his human rights when he has taken those rights from someone else. Bring back the death penalty for mass murderers, paedophiles, and rapists. These people do not deserve to be kept in our society, and definetely not allowed back into society under any circumstances. as a final point for family members of murder victims who say something about it being wrong to kill their family's attacker because their deaths bring no comfort to the family, the death penalty is not completely about retribution. It is actually more important simply to remove a danger to society from it. No amount of killing will ever ease the loss or harm of a loved one, but why would you want one of those people free to cause someone else the pain you feel?Flag

Name: Anonymous on Aug 6, 2011State:Country: United KingdomComments: I agree in the principle of an eye for an eye but only where there is 110% proof of guilt and not taken lightly....... maybe a court to determine guilt and then a second trial to decide on the penalty if a death penalty is being considered.... hence maybe 2 sets of juries one maybe of peers and another of legal professionals in addition to the legal system to ensure there is not a chance of innocence after conviction in addition to a generous window in which would serve as a 'holding area' to allow any further evidence/ chance to prove or at least question if someone is innocent. Any doubt, even 1% should mean that the penalty is not carried out. After all it has been know for many people to be wrongly convicted by our flawed legal system on the smallest to biggest charges.... in some cases many many years later it has been proven so there would be a need to protect people who may be innocent instead of a knee jerk reaction to the horrors of crimes such as murder that may cloud a fair trial whilst bringing truely guilty people to justice for their crimes.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Aug 7, 2011State:Country: United KingdomComments: Bring back the death penalty for murderers, terrorists & paedophiles and re-direct the money (currently spent on their luxury lives in prison) to the NHS, war veterans, the elderly, and cleaning up our filthy streets. Perhaps the existence of a death sentence in the UK might not only deter these non-humans from commiting crimes but it might also deter the multitudes who flood into the UK because we're seen as a soft option. BY THE WAY, THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THIS FORM - MY ZIP CODE IS FICTITIOUS IN ORDER FOR MY SIGNATURE TO BE ACCEPTEDFlag
