The University of Hawaii is about to have a new logo, one that costs $82K of public money.
Led by Paul Costello, Vice President for External Affairs and University Relations, the project of creating a new UH logo began in Spring 2002. Recently, the two finalist logo designs were unveiled to the public. They are available for viewing online at http://www.hawaii.edu/ur/brandesign.htm.
While Costello stated in a 04/08/03 Ka Leo article that the logo has received \"enthusiastic support across the 10 campuses,\" many members of the UH community have openly criticized the two proposed designs.
