We, the undersigned, wish to express our concerns over the proposed names for the University of Houston-Downtown.

We would like the Board of Regents to reconsider the  suggested names "Houston City University" and "City University" for the scheduled 2011 name change.  We feel that these names do not embody the University nor the opinion of its student body. 

Although we support a name change and feel that it will enhance the University, these names should not be considered.  We therefore request that these names be evoked and discussion on what the name should be continue.
