   Comments: This new bill is appalling, and I am both disappointed and outraged that our most senior bishops in the UK, let alone our church leaders, are taking their time in condemning this clearly immoral excuse for "law." Regardless of our views on sexual ethics, surely no one can argue that a death sentence for homosexual behaviour is an act in keeping with the Gospel message of love.

    Comments: This is an horrific piece of proposed legislation. It is cruel and inhuman and purports to pit family, friends, neighbours and the state against Lesbian and gay people. It is justified using Christian beliefs and it is important that the given the importance of the church of England in many Ugandan peoples lives that the church should make an offical comment denouncing the legislation.

    Comments: The Christian community of faith has a responsibility to speak out for justice. This bill is simply wrong on every count and shows how the deep prejudice and ignorance against lesbian and gay people continues in vicious forms. Rowan Williams and the other church leaders must be encouraged to speak out loudly against this injustice.

    Comments: I have already written to the Ugandan High Commission in London expressing my deep concern, as a Methodist minister, about the proposed Bill and would strongly urge Christian leaders around the world to express their concern, and, of course, particularly Archbishop Rowan Williams, and Archbishop John Sentamu, given the place of the Anglican Church in Uganda.

    Comments: It is a sad day when people who call themselves Christians and/or followers of Jesus propose the execution of people whom they consider sinners. It might be possible to get further from the spirit of Jesus than this, but one is hard put to imagine how.
