Comments: We need a major cultural change on this campus to bring it into the 20th (not to mention 21st) century and make it a supportive place for women to work. Women make up a smaller percentage of the faculty here at UGA than at our peer institutions, and that percentage shrinks as one progresses through the ranks. Taking sexual harassment seriously should be one part of a broader effort to correct this.

Comments: I am a new graduate student at UGA, and I am shocked to learn that there is no women's center, much less an ombuds office! I have studied and worked at three large, public research institutions, and the ombuds office has been a crucial service for staff and students. Women's centers are a standard on college campuses, an important safe place for women and marginalized people.

Comments: Although this latest horrendous example, as most previous cases, has been a faculty member harassing students, I would like to see effective measures taken also to hear cases of any students, faculty, or staff harassing any other students, faculty, or staff in any way.

Comments: The administration needs to set (or make public) the procedures to follow that are fair to all parties--similar to how they handle academic dishonesty

Comments: It is despicable that UGA continues to allow such blatant and horrific cases such as these as the ones in the other departments continue for such an indefinite length of time. The University should be ashamed.

Comments: I believe it is ridiculous that professors accused of sexual harrasement are still allowed to teach even online courses. These professors or faculty regardless of tenure or contract should no longer be able to contribute to the education of others at UGA. I believe sexual harassement is grounds for immediate termination as no one, woman or man, should ever be subjected to such events.
