Name: Electra Martini on Oct 5, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: I already go to work an hour earlier and spend 30 minutes after school. No time for paper work. Work is always taken home while I'm off the clock. If I shouldn't use my professional judgement then whose should I use when I'm the only one in a room of 28 studentsWhat other profession is subjected to this Doctors use their professional judgement and some of their patients are misdiagnosed and die, but they continue to practice. I'm presently using someone elses professional judgement and don't see the type of improvement you'd expect. There is also a big problem with the interventions that are mandated before you can make referrals. This is not fair to those children. They are forced to lose a whole year because of someone elses professional judgement. This new process undermines the rights of these children. Also, financially speaking there is nothing monumental about this contract.Flag

Name: Jocelyn Brathwaite on Oct 5, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: Thanks to this tentative contract I have renewed my interest in law school. Whether we, the delegates vote it down or not, I am resolute to leave teaching, after 12 years because if my union president could think that THIS THING is good enough to present, even tentatively, to the teachers in the Union...I don't want to stick around to see what other contracts could be negotiated in the future.Flag
