There is currently only ONE full size football pitch within Uddingston (South Lanarkshire Council). Our club has over 200 members alone; and we are only one of many football teams based in Uddingston. After the redevelopment of Porterswell Pitches, the number of grass football pitches was REDUCED from TWO to only ONE. There is adequate land for at least THREE pitches but the decision was made to have ONE football pitch and ONE rugby pitch, regardless of the fact that there is a Rugby club within 500m, which has its own pitch. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!
