In recognition of the high costs of textbooks that UCSB students face and in an effort to help reduce these costs, I pledge, whenever reasonable, to place at least one copy of every required text on course reserve at the UCSB library with the additional goal of one copy for every fifty students enrolled in the course. Furthermore, I pledge to consider alternatives to hard copies of books such as online options when possible.
