Football was played at UCR until 1975.  The team won two CCAA championships before the program was dropped due to low attendance and in anticipation of the impact of Title IX regulations.  UCR presently fields several Division I sports but not football.

Big West division rivals UC Davis and Cal Poly both support football programs that complete at the Division I-AA level (now known as FCS).

A football program at UCR would bring notoriety and exposure to UCR and would benefit not only the school, but the city of Riverside and the Inland Empire.

Current students, alumni, friends, please help our voice be heard and help bring collegiate football back to UCR!
