The UK National health system has again singled out itself for refusing to finance Tyverb(Lapatinib) a drug for advanced breast cancer patients. Whilst the drug is already being financed by the national health system of its neighbours in Ireland and France, the UK's NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) however is not planning to support its use. It seems to indicate that the UK' authorities does not value the 'time' of their citizen as much as do their European counterpart that also benefit from national heath care. Eligible woman with advanced breast cancer have extremely limited options. After all, time is all we really have.. This petition will be sent to NICE to ask them to review their decision and to allow the use of Tyverb. The appeal period will close on 27/03/2009, please sign this petition now and pass on to as many people as possible
