We the undersigned find your video posted here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE_ByMAjxuE, offensive, and consider that it was at best a misguided and clearly ill-informed venture reporting on a little understood phenomenon. We call on 'The Young Turks' to apologise for their insensitive treatment of the ASMR community and invite them to run a better informed piece on ASMR which we suggest should include an interview or interviews with ASMR video viewers and/or posters. We believe that there are many in the ASMR community who would be willing to give such an interview, including the creator of this petition. .:Explanation:. Many within the ASMR community have lived for years, not understanding the sensations they feel when they come into contact with a trigger, and hence feeling isolated and different. The fairly recent spread of the ASMR videos and information has given those people a sense of community in the realisation that they are not alone. The Young Turks' video was gutter journalism written by a lazy reporter who was happy to get their video filed quickly without proper research and with no thought as to the hurt it would cause a great many people. The Young Turks have more than 760 thousand subscribers, all of whom have been exposed to a video which describes other YouTube members as 'creepy' and suggests their community is a 'Gonzo Porn' fetish factory. This must not be allowed to go unchallenged.
