We, the people of the State of Illinois are struggling with this economic downturn and pray for some relief from our state legislators. In that regard, we respectfully ask that you reconsider your intentions to raise our income taxes by a whopping 67%. We can no longer afford these high taxes and hope that you would first look at your own salaries and benefits and make cuts in those areas before you take any more money from us. If this tax increase does go into effect, we will have no choice but to reconsider who we vote for in the next election. Anyone who participates in this unfair action will not receive the votes of the taxpayers of Illinois. It is our only tool at our disposal to make our voices heard and we intend to use it.
