The petition

To the honourable speaker and members of the house of representatives assembled in parliament:

The Petition of Certain Citizens of Australia

draws the attention of the House to/points out to the House that current legislation does not recognise twin births as a multiple birth for the purposes of Commonwealth and State Based Assistance in the same manner in which Higher Order Multiples (for example: triplets, quads, et al) are.

Your petitioners therefore request the House/ask the House/pray that the House will re-address this situation and modify legislation to ensure that twin births are recognised as a multiple birth therefore enabling twin birth parents/guardians/care-givers to access and receive assistance on a Commonwealth and State level as appropriate within current assistance guidelines and criteria.
