We petition the city of Cedar Rapids to implement a pedestrian crossing light to safely cross busy 42nd Street NE to get to and from Twin Pines Park. We believe this light would increase the amount of people using the park, especially those who live in nearby neighborhoods. This could also allow Pierce Elementary School children to walk safely to school because there would be one other option to safely cross 42nd Street besides the crosswalk on Marilyn Drive NE.
