IS IT FAIR that a single parent family of 2 children is charged the entry fee of $13.50, when a two parent family of 2 is charge an extra 50 cents entry fee How about if that single parent whom is studying fulltime or a pensioner having to pay the same entry fee... is that fair What about any elderly pension card holder or student whom is expected to pay the same entry fee as an 2 parent income earning family... You do the maths. If there are two parents and three children then all they have to pay is $16.00 entry fee (works out to be $3.20 per head). So why are the rest of us being disadvantaged by this whole deal. All, we are asking is for a casual concession entry fee, for pensioners and students and an all day pass out for all. The return of the BBQ would also be kindly apprieciated as well. Everyone knows that the Tweed Regional aquatic centre was closed down and refurbished. Well now that it has re opened many residents and visitors will not be able to afford to go because of the price jump in entry fees. But this is not the only changes that have come about due to the new regional aquatic centre. There are now limitations to the usage of the diving boards and the BBQ area has disappeared. The waterslide still exists but its time slots are now rotated between the diving boards. But worst of all is the entry fee of $4.50 for all above the age of 3 years old. There is no casual concession fee, and it is not for all day but per visit. So if you come in for an hour and leave and want to return a little later on you need to pay the entry fee again. Well there have been a lot of changes since the old pricing structure for not only the individual but for the schools and private coaches and swim schools. It seems that the centre is monopolising on the services thus creating limitations to the community. Its a service that they are providing but it is being run as a profit making business- profit for whom We have the right to say that this is wrong and changes need to be made, have your say today so that we can all have the opportunity to swim in our community pool together. This petition will be forwarded to the council and aquatic centre at the end of February 2009. Please support this cause and spread the word to your friends and family. 6 years ago Comments: Get back to how pools used to be for the public and not like a greedy money making business, ie get more family orientated. Too expensive and too restrictive. Should be more for the public, not private swimming groups getting priority all the time. Should be a separate pool or centre for these groups if not enough room for everyone. Bring back the bbq area. Disgusting to charge on re-entry from moving your car as 2 hour limit on spaces. Should be no charge on re-entry. Should be no limit on parking as people should stay as long as they like. Should be no limits on diving boards and water slide either.
