The league finally reversed their decision and Turton FC will be moving up as earned. It has been a long and draining fight to get here but we forced them to see the truth. Rest assured we will keep watching to ensure they actually follow through on this promotion.

Turton FC won promotion by finishing 2nd in Div 1 of West Lancs League. The League committee have decided not to allow them promotion & not relegated anyone as they say the ground improvements should have been done by 31st March. The club have secured £87k of funding and all improvements that will achieve step 7 criteria will be done before the start of the season. The club feel that the hard work and success achieved is being ignored and a bit of flexibility & support from the league was all that was needed.

We would like the league to reconsider their decision.....do you agree this needs re-looking at!!?

Seeing the growth of this movement has been exhausting but it keeps me moving forward. The league cannot ignore how many people believe this club earned their spot on the pitch.

One thousand people have signed this and honestly I am exhausted by the fight we are currently in. Seeing this level of support helps me keep going when the league committee makes it feel like all the effort on the pitch was for nothing.

I think Turton FC should be given the promotion that they clearly deserve. All Clubs who get promoted into The West Lancashire League Premier Division should be given 1-2 years to get there respective stadiums up to the required stadium criteria.

Am I missing something here? At the time of the deadline (31/3) they didn't know for sure they'd need to make them - not being promoted at that stage. Time for some common sense - rules are one thing, but this is way into jobsworth territory.

sick of these bureaucrats who make these silly rules. Why should a club be forced to spend large sums of money on the basis that they MIGHT get promoted? The sort of improvements required at this level can easily be done in the close season.

Clubs at this level are manned by volunteers doing their best. Seems only fair that they should be promoted, especially as the funding is in place. Important we dont kill off enthusiasm and the ambition of clubs, regardless of the level they play at

The FA must intervene as the rules are not being applied consistently. For every other step in the NLS a club has until the 31st March the year after promotion to comply with that step's requirements. Why would going into Step 7 be any different?
