The Petition

Secretary Ken Salazar
Department of the Interior
1849 C Street, N.W.
Washington DC 20240

Dear Secretary Salazar,
This petition is in response to the plight of the farmers in San Joaquin Valley and other areas of California due to the decision by the Federal Government to cut their water supply in order to protect the Delta Smelt.

The devastation to these communities by this reckless act is unconscionable. Legal experts believe it is also unconstitutional.

These once robust farms that produced food products for our entire country have been reduced to dust. The farmers, workers, and communities are left jobless, penniless, hopeless, and standing in lines for up to 6 hours to get food to put on their tables. Ironically, it is being reported that the food being handed out is coming from China or other countries.

Therefore,we respectfully request that you immediately turn the water on for these farmers! Anything short of that sends a very disturbing message. I can assure you this has gotten a tremendous amount of attention and the citzens of this great country are paying attention.

This should not happen in the United States of America. We never believed in our lifetime that the rights of a 2-in fish would take priority over the rights of our fellow citizens.

Respectfully,
An American Patriot
