A considerable number of people in Muncie are interested in doing the work to secure funding and turn the Columbia Theater downtown into a single-screen arts cinema. Naturally, the theater would show new-release indie films that the "big box" theater AMC 12 isn't showing. But a community arts cinema would be more than that. We want to celebrate film in Muncie, and in Indiana. We want to create an inviting location designed specifically for showcasing your stories and presenting them professionally. We want to create a community of people dedicated to making the media arts accessible and exciting in Muncie, and we want to make a major contribution to the continuing evolution of our revitalized downtown by doing so.
