Climate Change is a uniquely disturbing problem for New Orleans and Louisiana. On average, southern Louisiana is only three feet above current sea level. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts 4.3 to 9.5 feet of net local sea level rise by 2100 for Louisiana. No levee can be built big or strong enough to thwart this threat.

We, the alumni of Tulane, stand firmly in our commitment to act on climate change by requesting that Tulane University freeze any new investment in the top 200 fossil-fuel companies, and within five years divest from direct ownership and from any commingled funds that include fossil-fuel public equities and corporate bonds.
