Name: Tina Briggs on Jan 16, 2013Comments: Like many other parents, we bought a house specifically because on the Tudor Grange catchment area, paying an inflated price because if this. I am therefore shocked that my daughter, now in Y5, may not be able to attend her catchment school. I could (if there are spaces) move her to one of the 'preferred' schools, but why should I put my daughter through the stress of having to leave her friends and familiar routines in order to secure a place that should automatically be hers. I feel we have been hit with a double whammy here - not only might she not be able to attend the school her sister goes to but undoubtably house prices in the area will be effected. I'd also like to know how this reflects the diverse society in which we live if there is a bias towards one religion in one of the key school's within the borough. No wonder Tudor Grange kept this hidden!! I shall be emailing my protest to Tudor Grange and urge others to do the same.... This is wrong!Flag

Name: Jane Howis on Jan 16, 2013Comments: Common sense has gone out of the window-surely local children should go to a local school...preferably in walking distance..making local friends. Instead parents will be forced to drop their kids at school in a car with friendships dispersed far and wide. What a crazy idea!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 16, 2013Comments: Although I do not live within the TG catchment and my year 6 daughter is going to a different Solihull school, I still disagree with the move to do this and the effect it will have on the community. Perhaps the local news papers would be interested in reporting on this!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 17, 2013Comments: I only became aware of this yesterday, when I "happened" upon the news on the school's website. I think this proposal is completely unfair to families with children already within the catchment area. I also wonder if it is just the first stage in Tudor Grange Academy becoming a faith school.Flag

Name: Dr Tony Worthington on Jan 17, 2013Comments: Extremely disappointed and angry with the proposed changes to the admissions criteria and the manner in which the information has been released (web site link). Many parents (myself not included) move to the area in order to secure places in good local schools and the proposed change to the admissions proposal discriminates against local parents and pupils who, up until now, had a very good chance of obtaining the school of their choice. 'Getting into bed' with St James' and St Alphege and prioritising pupil places based on academy status and exisitng links is totally unacceptable and I expect that there will be a major protest in the pipeline.Flag

Name: Biro Dhillon on Jan 17, 2013Comments: This should not be happening and to choose faith schools only is not fair. We moved onto this road as it was in Tudor Grange catchment before it became an academey. I also believe that during their consultation process to become an academy they said they would not change their admissions policy. I also understand from a close source that solihull acacademies had agreed to not change their admissions policy and to keep the same as local authority admissions. I will be emailing the school directly.Flag
