Name: Mrs Lockley on Jan 15, 2013Comments: Why haven't they contacted every parent at this school by email or letter? They are taking this school away from our children! Perhaps if they had spelt out the changes they had intended to make prior to their affiliation with the Diocese of Birmingham parents may have been able to put a halt to this earlier.Flag

Name: Mark Briggs on Jan 15, 2013Comments: Interesting that letters are sent home to parents about trivial matters such as not taking mobile phones into school but no letter was sent regarding a consultation period over this important issue. It appears the school doesn't really want any parent consultation about this!Flag

Name: Joanne Dawson on Jan 15, 2013Comments: My oldest son attends the school and this will mean my youngest son who has to apply this September will not get a place, even though we are the closest house to Tudor Grange this school is not our catchment area. This will be the same for lots of families not having there children in the same school.Flag

Name: Gaynor Moseley on Jan 15, 2013Comments: Why should they get priority over any other schools within the Solihull Area. I gather St James has been bombarded with applicants for places due to the announcement, alot from Birmingham. St James parents not happy either as they like their small school.Flag

Name: Mrs Krishna Smith on Jan 15, 2013Comments: This goes against the academies act 2010 as the pupils at st alphege and st James schools on the whole are not wholly or mainly drawn from the local area whereas the children in the current catchment area are. The school also needs to consider the impacts on the local community and the house pries of the people in the local area as if they lose Tudor grange as a catchment then the house pries will fall adding to an already suffering economy. It would also be fairer if it was brought in after the current junior school pupils have made their way into the secondary admissions procedure so that people choosing junior schools can choose them with the knowledge of the feeder secondary school. As at present people choosing tudorgrange academy are doing so as they knew it was to become a feeder school to the secondary and not for its c of e ethos, therefore bypassing the system as they live in other school catchments but want Tudor grange. It seems very unfair to those of us who have purposely bought a house in the catchment to find out it was all in vain.Flag

Name: Sara Golby on Jan 15, 2013Comments: The fact that this has not been actively communicated is appalling. I found about this on Facebook. The school said there would be no changes to admissions policy and I see no reason why it should change. Children at these faith schools can attend TG if they live in the area anyway.Flag

Name: Debbie Harrison on Jan 15, 2013Comments: Totally unfair on the local community that has and still does make TG the school that it currently is. However, these proposals will diminish that local community. Where do the 130 children, who under the current, well established admission criteria, now go? Surely TG are not that short sighted to see the negative impact this proposal has on the local community or is it just the strings that are being pulled from the "backers?" Why not go the whole hog TG and convert to a faith school? Whilst these proposal benefit some children who currently attend the linked primary schools, it is in fact a double blow for those children who were unable to obtain a place at the linked junior schools. Will this lead to a total catchment area change for the who of the LEA? In case it's not obvious I am totally oppoised to these proposed changes.Flag

Name: Ian Stanners on Jan 15, 2013Comments: Apparently there are three schools doing this, Tudor Grange, Arden School and one other. At this rate our children will end up in schools many miles from where they live. This is not something I would expect in any area, so why are these schools choosing to do this and also being allowed to do it.Flag

Can't help but think in this world of Education Academies and their need (sorry greed) for money that there may be a parental wealth / postcode wealth interest going on here (for future contributions maybe?) How pessimistic that I should think such things would go on???Flag

Now it seems Tudor Grange Academy are making things even worse on purpose. Can they not see that they are helping to pull our community apart...shame on them!!!Flag
