Name: Anonymous on Oct 24, 2012Comments: This is a serious trend recently, and it is a negative for Towson University and other schools that are entertaining the idea of dissolving their athletic programs. I have three sons - two having graduated after playing Division I soccer - and one who is a senior in high school. With such a strong soccer community in the mid-Atlantic region, it is remarkable that Towson would think of cutting out a place for students to play soccer in college. We personally know many former Towson soccer players who are now giving back to their communities both professionally and in the soccer arena.Flag

Aren't programs and coachs like this suppost to be part of the college experience that prepare young people for the future?Flag

Name: Menalcus Lankford on Nov 1, 2012Comments: Watching baseball at Towson has been my main connection to the University in recent years. If you need to recoup some money on it, you could charge non-students for tickets, and create a list of annual donors. I would be willing to contribute. Towson is THE face of Division One baseball in the metro Baltimore area -- the only other, poor UMBC, has trouble winning 20% of its games. The university will lose much good will if it drops this classic American sport in favor of grandiose plans for expansion.Flag
