To Mr. Waddell and his Senior Leadership Team:

The names of those listed here are Towson University students, student-athletes, fans, and other supporters, who have signed in protest of your potential decision to discontinue the Towson University Men’s Baseball and Soccer programs.

As a group, we hope you understand that our difference of opinion branches not only from passion and loyalty that many of us have given to our perspective programs, but also from an understanding of the complexity of the decision you are choosing to make.

The realities of the finances of the Towson University Athletic Department and the constraints of Title IX are not for us to comment on, but as Towson enthusiasts, we wish to remind you of the following:

Towson University has asked these athletes, whose programs you are dismembering, to make a commitment to your institution. You asked them to commit their time, energy, and important years of their lives, to the benefit of not only themselves, but also your program, the school, and the surrounding communities.

This commitment they made, has affected everything that surrounds them – from what programs they study, where they live, the people that they communicate and work with everyday, to how they experience life at Towson.

In return they have expected nothing other than the support of those who asked this commitment of them; Towson University.

We strongly urge you to consider your duty to the athletes of who you have asked so much of, and reconsider your decision to cut these programs.

Thank you for your time
