I have lessons with Daniel and have always found him to be a professional and motivating coach. He is one of the few coaches who shows any real interest in the members and always keen to encourage all members to participate in tennis. I have 20 years experience working in the fitness & racquets industry and Daniel is an stand out individual in his customer service, attitude and work ethic. In my opinion Daniel has a very positive impact and makes a huge contribution to the club. His departure would be a huge loss for DL MK.Flag

Name: Asvin Morjaria on Dec 31, 2012Comments: Daniel and DL tennis at Milton Keynes are synonymous. I have been a member of David Lloyd for 14 years and would like to understand who is proposing letting him go and justify that to the members. He has helped my son play tennis by making it fun...he is a hard coach but always gets results from young and old. He coached my brother who has not beaten me at tennis for 22 years, after coaching with Daniel I cannot take a set off him. DL - justify your reasons!Flag

He has been an inspiration to our girls, encouraging, supporting and always going out of his way. His tennis coaching skills are unparalleled, dedicated teacher, people's coach, approachable and down to earth, that's Daniel. I plead with DL management to reconsider this decision for the sake of my family and other members, " a wise man changes his mind".Flag

He has pushed me to my limit and taught me to love the game which is important for any player of my age. He is not just a coach to me he is a friend, a brother and an idol. I am shocked, devastated and angry with DL, whoever has made this decision will ruin my dream of becoming a tennis player. Think of young children like me and reconsider you decision!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 2, 2013Comments: Daniel is a professional, very hard working, friendly coach. Along with Jason Fairhurst, Daniel is the only other decent coach of a very good level. It seems extraordinary that DL do not intend to retain him. He is a credit to the reputation of the DL brand and club in general. Cynically it appears a simple matter of certain coaches envying a professional who has a strong and loyal cliental and want a share of the pie without wanting to to the groundwork and not having the personality or skills to achieve this other than this underhand behaviour.Flag

Name: Julie on Jan 2, 2013Comments: Hi management !!! Me to hope you reconsider & renew Daniels contract. The only reason I come to Mk DL , is Daniel . Like everyone else I've known him forever, loads of lessons,& amI am hoping you will reconsider your decision not to renew Daniel Kasambira's contract. Poor Daniel, the father of two boys trying hard to give them a better life in the Uk, the most tolerant welcoming country in my opinion , what's happening in that management team, is there a conspiracy is it because he's black? What is the truth? My children & I have been training with Daniel on & off for almost 10 years, & would be very sad to see him leave Milton Keynes. We along with many others think he's the best couch there, along with Jason , this is based on results not emotion. I realise there are other coaches atMK, But,they are no match for his wealth of skill & experience , as he played at such a high level ,& offers high performance coaching ,as does Jason . At the moment we train with Luca Appino , Nadals junior coach in Italy , when in Mk , we always use Daniel ,I know I am among many who feel the same,as we all recommend him regularly, & as you can see are all upset!!!!!!!! In the world of international tennis he is highly respected, as a great coach. I was only talking about him a few months ago to the coach of the junior ladies French open champion , a Tunisian girl, who new Daniel well. , I can't imagine why he has been singled out, & coaching posts offered to let's say those with little or no experience to train our young, serious players I'm sure you agree!! Parents of children who play tennis, I'm sure you know are exceptionally well informed about training techniques & where to go to get the best for there child,& value for money, as many of us deal with tennis federations. . You have obviously not been given a clear picture of his value to the club or this situation would never have occurred . . Further more Daniel injects such enthusiasm for the game, while also offering excellent pastoral care . All his players young & old are long term clients who go on to be excellent players at, club level,&on the Junior Circuit . David Lloyd Milton Keynes is really on the map because of the excellent players they turn out due to excellent coaching isn't that what the British sports council wants, for the next Olympic ?? not bad now!!!! All thanks to him,& me of course as he gave so much encouragement on the days when I was late & really could hardly be bothered!!!!! My children only know him, it's 10 yrs . My daughter is now looking to go to Univesity in the states on a tennis scholarship thanks to Dan!!!! My son adores him. We play in Italy a lot & know loads of people who know Daniel & hold him in high regard .is this a lower level management problem? It's really bad house keeping to let one of your best coaches go, false economy. I hope you keep him, or I won't bother anymore. Jason & James are great , but our relationship is with Daniel ,& that's where I want it to stay. So please change your minds, go & have a lesson then you'll get it. Julie , frank issy,& maxFlag

Name: Sarah on Jan 2, 2013Comments: I am still truly outraged at this situation As I understand as of today the decision not to renew Daniel's contract still stands. DL's management need to seriously get over themselves and listen to their members . Disregarding Daniel as tennis coach & revoking his contract over petty excuses is pedantic and unnecessary. As of many I am seriously considering cancelling my membership. I do believe DL management most probably believe they have the upper hand as there is no other indoor racquet clubs locally but frankly without Daniel I have no reason to visit DL, There are other health clubs locally that are now more inviting and convenient for me and I'm sure others feel the same.Flag

Name: Jane Bensley on Jan 3, 2013Comments: My 7 yr old son has had group and individual lessons with Daniel since the age of 3. He was a shy child reluctant to join in with group activities. From his very first Tots Tennis group lesson Daniel has displayed unerring patience and understanding of my son which has led not only to improved tennis skills but helped him to develop into a well rounded confident child. I would be very disappointed if he could no longer receiving coaching from Daniel and would seriously consider ending our family membership with David Lloyd. We have thought of doing so before but it has been Daniel's coaching that has tipped the balance in favour of remaining a member of the Club in the past.Flag

Name: T William on Jan 4, 2013Comments: Dear Manager, I find it extremely upsetting to learn that Daniel’s contract will not be renewed at David Lloyd. I am not sure what logic use apply in arriving at this decision. However found it totally unacceptable as if it wasn't for Daniel I would have cancelled my membership at David Lloyd a long time ago. My daughter has been receiving coaching from Daniel for about a year now. I have noticed exceptional improvement in my daughter's tennis. She has grown in confidence and is now playing at the level I had only dreamed. Daniel in my view is one of the best tennis coaches I have seen around. In fact my daughter was previously training with other coaches at David Lloyd, but was not making any progress. Therefore I write to advise you to reconsider your decision. WilliamFlag

Name: Annie on Jan 5, 2013Comments: With shock and great disappointment I have just learnt that Daniel's contract is not being renewed. Has the world of David Lloyd management gone completely mad!!?? I understand David Lloyd is a business but what is the rationale behind this!??? Unfortunately there now seems to be a trend that David Lloyd is doing anything it can to upset it's customers instead of listening to them. As a family we spend a substantial amount of time and money at David Lloyd but if this current trend of not listening to the customer continues we will have to consider our options. Daniel is a high class professional coach and as i understand that David Lloyd is trying to get LTA recognition he must surely be recognised as an asset to David Lloyd Milton Keynes. Whoever is responsible for this decision needs to seriously do a rethink.Flag

Name: Paul on Jan 5, 2013Comments: Thanks Anon for your input, I have been to Daniel on a regular accurance over the last 4 years, he has pushed me to the limit told me im lazy and that I need to move my feet. Told me to run faster Told me to not drink so much wine Told me to not each so much at the weekend Looked in disappointment when I didnt run for a ball I could have got to.rolled his eyes when I didn't hit my best return he knows I am capable of. Told me a 1000 times swing over your shoulder, looked in disappointment as I need so many breaks. Laughs at me when I have to change my shoes or need a drink every 5 mins These are the qualities of Daniel honest and pushes you harder than any coach we know. That gets results, if you don't want to be pushed to achi ve great results or dont want to hear the truth there are many other coaches that will help you at David Lloyd and give you what you w If you don't respond to Daniels style you don't want coaching He must never be allowed to go as I will not renew my or my wife's membership FACTFlag

Name: Simon on Jan 6, 2013Comments: I have just heard the news and cannot believe David Lloyd would make such a big mistake. The best coach in the club thrown out for made up reasons by partly a another self employed tennis coach. Sorry this stinks and i have heard they tried this before. Surely a conflict on interest !!!! I have had lessons with Daniel for 5 years and he has improved my tennis beyond my dreams. I have a love for the game as i can now play it. My fitness has improved and its all down to Daniels hard and persistent coaching. I did try other coaches as well but Daniel is the best. I really hope DL can see sense and listen to there members and reinstate Daniel. If there is no Daniel there is no David Lloyd membership for me. I also think this is is the tip of the iceberg and its not common knowledge at the moment. Once or if Daniel isn't around there will be a load of very angry David Lloyd clients because we have been here years and we Know the TRUTH.Flag
