Some of you may be asking yourself...why is this being started Why do we need a change Why put yourself in this situation Well, you'll find your answers here.
Shane Clark seems to be a good Christian man, but as you football fans know, so was Tommy Bowden at Clemson. There comes a point and time where you need to realize whether or not you are helping this team, this school, and this community. Shane Clark was hired because of his family, not because of his credentials. Like it or not, that's the way it went down. It's time to put away the good ole boy system that has trickled down into our youth association as well.
TR Football has a "history" of being bad. Their last winning season was 2004 where they went 6-5 in Shane Clark's first season. Before that, they had not had a winning season since 1991 when they also went 6-5 under Jack Anderson. They have not been to the playoffs since 2005, and have not won a playoff game since 1984 (yes, 1984)
So if the "history" of TR is bad, why do this Well, it's time for a change. It's time for TR to find a coach that can and will turn this program around. We had our chance to hire the former Greenville High Coach (and former TR student) Jim Sosbee in 2005, but chose to stay with Mr. Clark. Made sense at the time, as Shane Clark was region coach of the year that season, but looking back it was the worst move ever. At Greenville, Mr. Sosbee went 36-13, made the playoffs each year, made the quarterfinals in 2007 and made the second round in 2008.
Since 2004, Shane Clark has led this team to a great record of 17-42 (as of this last debacle to JL Mann). In 2007, Greenville High posted 78 points against us, which is the most in TR history. This is also the same season that we went 0-10...that's right...DID NOT WIN A GAME!!!!!!!
Last week, JL Mann, a team currently 2-4, posted 76 points on TR......looks like we're staying consistent, huh
Bottom line is, TR needs to get the attitude that losing is UNACCEPTABLE...and it starts with a coaching change.
For those that get upset by this, don't let the facts get in your way.

I have spent the week gathering historical data on our coaching vacancies and program performance since 1984. Formal documentation is being prepared for the school board to address the current leadership structure. I will share their official response as soon as it arrives.
October 9, 2009
The current trajectory confirms that a significant portion of this community demands a formal review of the coaching staff. I am moving forward with drafting a structured proposal to present these concerns to the school administration.
