There is a problem with only allowing the citizens who travel in the later evening a convenient passage via bus sixty-two only until about 9:30. The problem begins with those of us who work south of Milikan Way MAX Station. If anyone working in the area of Safeway (sholls ferry and murray blvd) in any one of the number of shops located there they must be out of work and on the bus by 9:30 pm if they're to make it north of Milikan. The next best step is to take the MAX East and try to walk the rest of the way to our homes. Personally speaking, I am a server in a restaurant and do not get out of work until 9:45 normally, sometimes later and sometimes a slight bit earlier. When I go to catch the sixty-two and can only make the last bus North, well, I have to then transfer to the MAX and head East (MAX doesnt show up until 20 minutes after the bus drops me off). I then ride the MAX East to Sunset TC and then walk down NW Barnes Road just over a mile. Puts me inside my home around 11:20-30; this is catching the 10:30 bus from work if I get out around 9:45 or 10. Almost TWO hours later I am home. My proposal: attempt to bring this to Trimet's attention and urge to have them extend the sixty-two's schedule or allow the last Northbound bus to not only head to Milikan and then the garage, but to have it go ALL the way to Sunset TC and FINISH the route it should be anyway. I have incited many conversations on the bus route so far and have spoken with people who are getting on and off later in the evening who feel very inconvenienced by this schedule. It's as if Trimet would like to impose some sort of curfew on those who live West of Portland. Do we need them to tease us like this? How about we stand up, make ourselves heard, and show them we deserve to have a fairly run bus route that extends Murray Blvd.
