This is a petition stating that Trialnet should have its government grant renewed when it comes up for review. Trialnet requests a small blood sample from the family members of type 1 diabetics and runs a series of tests on the given sample to see if the family members also have the antibodies which when activated by events such as the occurrence of common viruses such as the flu are the cause of type 1 diabetes. Their long term goal is to isolate and control or neutralize the antibodies, essentially finding a cure of sorts for this debilitating disease. Please sign this petition if you believe this is a worthy cause to be supported.
