Name: Anonymous on Oct 18, 2008Comments: Our state, our county, and their contractors are using the "discrimination" card to trump the rights of homeowners. They are essentially saying that we have no rights, but their patients do. This is unconstitutional. We all have equal rights under the law. However, they are treading on ours. Name: Anonymous on Oct 20, 2008Comments: I absolutely agree that more should be done to research zoning laws which allow these types of treatment facilities to be located near homes with small children and schools. We work hard to protect the rights of these individuals yet not hard enough to protect the safety of our children.Flag

Name: Jason Eubanks on Oct 20, 2008Comments: The proposal by Columbia Care to build a 15-bed, secure treatment facility in a residential nieborhood is simply wrong. The idea that this facility could house up to 15 convicted child molesters, arsonists, or rapists next door to a family with small children is incomprehensible! This is an absolute misuse of the Federal Fair Housing Act in regards to the mentally ill. Something must be done.Flag
