When the got 300 new busses they took 400 busses off the road and are still working some dont have w/c lifts but are being stored then trashed. Go figure that one out!! i wish it would go back to BC Transit and run by people who use the busses and skytrain not people who are translinks hot shots like Drew Snider & Ken Hardie they are complete ***holes and just want to trash all the busses. The fares WILL go up again January 1st 2010 just an fyi for everyoneFlag

Name: Tiffany Fox on Sep 27, 2007Comments: This city has the worst transit of any small town I've been to. It is not unfeasible to have timely pickups or a train system that can be relied upon. After 30 years of taking transit in various cities and towns, I am finally so disgusted with the transit in the GVRD and its elementary school failures that I'm insuring my car so I never have to take it again. Congratualtions, Translink. Your completely substandard service just put another car on the road. And I'm not the only one who has decided your pitiful transit isn't worth the time, money or aggravation.Flag

Name: Hayley on Sep 27, 2007Comments: Why should I have to pay more for transit when... as a student at Simon Fraser I daily wait in a line to go up and down the mountain and I am continuously crammed into sky train where we (students) are bitched at by old women for getting in her way (sorry for getting an education) It's a huge contradiction when we have our government preaching to us about global warming and at the same time our transit prices are getting raised, what incentive will the average person have to use transit if they have to pay high rates to *maybe* get on the next train/busFlag

Name: Andra Danciu on Sep 28, 2007Comments: I'm using Public Transit since the day I got here - more than three years ago and I can say that there is a lot of room for improvement and not for fare increases - it is quite expensive as it is. As I do not intend to own a car for the time I need to spend here, I have no choice but Translink, so I do not need to pay more than I already do. Too many disruptions, buses caught up in traffic at rush hour, long waiting times on some of the routes, super crowded buses and sky trains at rush hour and so on. And this is all happening in the third Millenium in a city as Vancouver!!!!!!!!!!!!! I see no reason to pay more.Flag

I currently cannot drive and im unemployed... its already freaking expensive since i have just changed from concession to adult... and im astounded already to find out bussing monthly is 95 dollars for just 2 zones rather than the consession 40 dollars, and yet... government and people expect us to carpool and stuff and save the so called enviroment.. IF THE government wanted us to save the enviroment shouldnt they make the dam busses and sky trains more affordable so people can actually take them instead of drivingFlag

Name: Donna So on Oct 3, 2007Comments: The Nanaimo buses are always late and sometimes have to wait 30 minutes because a bus didn't show up. I always have to leave early to get to school by 8:20 for my 8:30 class because the skytrain is always so packed and i have to watch 2-3 skytrains pass by full going to downtown. It's horrible. The skytrain just recently had many problems such as stalling at main street for 30-45 minutes because of door closing problems and system crashes. I was late to work on many occasions during this time. The government uses millions of tax payers money for first class travel and spending it like water and they want to increase transit fairs BULLSHIT. The NEXT ELECTION i will definately vote for a better system of government.Flag

Name: Colin Mcdonald on Oct 8, 2007Comments: The prices are too expensive, isn't public transit supposed to be avaiable for people who cant afford cars, and also arent we supposed to be encouraged to take it to lessen the amount of pollution ( this is all not happening). I agree with the skytrain police they are a waste of time giving rider fines instead of making it safe. Also there are not enough skytrains they are always packed and you can never get on throughout the entire day. There is always garbage and now they play the stupid pick up your garbage announcment. And also the skytrain should run 24 hours a day or more than it does to help people who have jobs downtown at bars or restaurants be able to get to and from work and not restrict there avaialbility and also it shouldl be open later for people who go to bars and stuff so they can get home if they drink to much it would prevent drinking driving and lessen car accidents and also give people a way home if they end up drinking too much, instead of driving home or sleeping in your car.the system is a very big fraud taking more money from people than they should and not providing enough access and vehichles.Flag

It takes me over 2 hours to get to school and over 2 and half hours back yet I now have to pay more money when my school isn't even given a U PASS I don't care about the Fast Trax Sticker. I'm planning to transfer to Emily Carr next year which is still two zones so I hope by that time we will atleast get a UPASS, and improved bus serviceFlag

Name: Shauna Guenther on Oct 30, 2007Comments: The users of Translink's conveyance are the most financially-strapped in our society. Rather than punishing them monetarily for using public transportation, other sectors should be rewarding us for leaving a smaller environmental footprint on the Lower Mainland, and should be contributing funds in greater amounts. Hey, portions of the carbon tax should go to your many road/bridge/system improvements!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 2, 2007Comments: 6 cops boarded a 98-b on a Weds afternoon. 6 Fully armed cops complete with bullet proof jackets checking pass validity at 70th. 3 got on from the front, 3 from the back to make sure no one snuck off. 6 cops! there was an arrest made near my house with 2 cops, it takes 6 cops, to check the validity of bus tickets belonging to 16 old folks and me!! Bus drivers NEVER look, I swear their blind, and if they are not, then they have a sick sence of humor driving off when folk are close enough to pound on the doors asking to be let in.Flag

What can I say I could go on to say how crappy the service is, or how the busses are late or broken down or even complain about the raise in the fare. But I won't. All I will say is that because of you, I decided to buy a car. Thanks for sucking. Keep up the shit work. I like the freedom of having my own transportation. Sincerely, Jeff WrightFlag
