| 203 | Rhea Orion | isn't it about time we simply get these things passed to protect people, so we can think about the earth and the children, instead of this constant ridiculous wrangling over who peopel are that's none of our business? discrimination is all the same - only the victims have changed according to the discomfort level of politicians and zealots. the earth is in danger, men, women and children are dying. stop fussing over who loves whom, and what roles and clothes people need to wear! thank you for your courage and leadership. |

| 214 | Anonymous | Workers should not be discriminated against based on intrinsic characteristics which are completely irrelevant to job performance. Obtaining and keeping a job should be based solely on one's qualifications and skills. |

| 216 | Steven Harris | This is elemental fairness: No one should be discriminated against on account of their being just "different". |
| 217 | Robyn E Lee Webb, CTS | Transgender people are your family members, your friends, your neighbors, and whether you know it or like it, many of us are already your coworkers.
Denial of the basic right of transgender Americans to enjoy the same protections offered all other Americans is no different from racial segregation in schools, housing and public accommodation, and is the very height of hypocrisy.
While such criteria as religious belief, clearly a matter of conscious choice, is a fully protected criterion for workplace discrimination, you and your colleagues would exclude transgender Americans from the basic right to provide for ourselves and our families based solely on our born identity, over which we have no more control than the color of our skin, our height or any other physiological characteristic.
You should be ashamed of yourselves. |

| 230 | Katherine Teixeira | I am a transsexual Californian. I speak from experience. It has taken me nearly six years to find a paying job in this her home state. After all this, I have gone from being a senior level computer programmer to an entry level part-time library page. I personally know several other trans folks still desperately looking for any sort of employment. Please don't abandon us! |

| 236 | Paul Mooney | It is unfair to exclude transgender Americans from ENDA, especially given the high rate of unemployment among this community. |
| 237 | Lonnie Weiss | Dear Nancy,
I'm a SF voter and was thrilled to see you elected
Speaker. Discrimination agaainst Lesbians and
Gays is often caused by the perception that they
don't perfectly fit into into the so narrowly constructed 2 gender categories.
200+ years of discrimination against us in the USA
is much more than enough.
Please help! |
