Christin MilneDear Ms. Pelosi, I would like to include my name to those who are on the side of human rights in this matter. While i am just one voice out of many, I am still a person that feels, hurts and loves just like you. I had the good fortune to have been born in this great country. I have had the honor to serve this country in the Coast Guard for 20 years. I have been at the scene of many rescues and many times put my life on the line for the protection of life and property. Now it is I that need a rescue, it is my community at risk. It is the chance for others to give just as I have. What is it i ask for? Merely the though that i could have employment protection as other citizens do. That i cant be dismissed from a job, on the whim of a person that is narrow minded or bigoted. While i would hope that all of Americas citizens are valued and afforded equal protections, it seems as if there is yet annother group that standsv ulnerable while good people stand silent and allow discrimination to flourish. I do hope that congres has the courage to make a statement to the country that discrimination, no matter how practiced is evil and has no place in America, in 2007. Thank you Christin Milne

Roberta BarryAs a PFLAG mom and activist leader, I am totally in opposition to separation of transgender people from the ENDA bill.
Anonymousfirst a trans inclusive bill PASSES and now you say ENDA can't pass unless you take the transgendered rights out of the mix? What kind of insane double talk is this? Support ALL human rights don't pick and choose.
Marc ColemanI have always been a hard worker and I have always been treated unfair because Im a transgender person. It not right to take any kind of protection away from me. Would like it if you weren't protected?
Rick GarciaWe oppose ENDA if it does not include gender identity. We will leave no one behind, especially those who are most vulnerable. Shame on you for excluding those who need the protection the most! Rick Garcia Equality Illinois
Je'Amour P. MatthewI am tired of being left off the bus, why is it the ill advised out there who set policy keep lumping us with the Queer Community, 'GENDER IDENITY' has nothing to do with "SEXUAL ORIENTATION"

stephen a. glassmanAs the Chairperson of The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission I convey the unanimous support of our full body of Commissioners, Republicans and Democrats alike, for a fully inclusive ENDA. Nothing less is acceptable.
Kelly ArmstrongPlease do the right thing and don't throw me under the bus.
Amy S.I am very bothered by this separation. I strongly oppose this type of legislation. Being a transsexual woman, I have encountered much discrimination in the workplace and during my attempts in obtaining employment. We all deserve our basic civil rights!

Rabbi Levi AlterTwo bills just muddy the water. One bill sends a clear message that ALL discrimination is wrong, is anti-workers and America needs every worker to compete.
AnonymousCongress needs to take the time to learn who the real transgendered are -- the people recently on the Ophra show, not the Jerry Springer show. People you likely will not know are transgendred until they are outed and then open to discrimination of the worst kind -- the ability to earn an honest living simple because they are transgendered. I'm reaming anonymous here because if I'm outed, I'm likely out of a job!

Diane F. DodsonDo the right thing and include both sexual orientation and gender identity. Thank you.
Erin Warnick ( Computer Scientist )We have children and other obligations that we care about. If our employment is not secure, it not only hurts us a indviduals, but also our families. Would you like to explain to our children that there mother or father can't find a job because our government doesn't support equal protection in employment? The decision to split the bills will only hurt one of the more vulnerable groups in the GLBT community.
Patricia SmithI am a Army Vetran having served on deployment as a 1st. Lt., and company executive oficer during Operation Joint Endevor 96-97, I served to bring a democratic life to the Bosnian people. Soldiers were killed then, and soldiers continue to die in Iraq and Affganistan, they die so that others may know of democracy. If Transgender Americans are not included in ENDA, then real Democracy is dead, and the men and women dying in Iraq and Affganistan are dying for nothing!!

AnonymousEvery trans person I know has been harassed or discriminated against at work. My partner's former employer wouldn't let her use the women's restroom. She had to hold her bladder nine hours a day.

AnonymousPlease add back into this Transgender people. It is my firm belief that all people need to be protected in their places of employment. It is what our country was founded for, the right to work and be free for all people. Thank you.

Stephen VelkyThe transgender community have been fighting hand and hand with the GLB community for equality and we can not leave them behind. I do not want ENDA if it does not include transgender protections.

Ricki LiffI am a counselor for homeless transgender individuals. Some are burdened with substance issues and HIV/AIDS. September is SAMHSA National Recovery Month. How does it help people recover if they can be denied housing and jobs-----legally.

Rev. Arica Ellen KingThe Senate and House of representatives have both already passed bills including Gender Identity, a very needed inclusion. It makes no sense why this class of citizens would now be detrayed by being excluded. If for some bizzare reason an inclusive bill is impossible now, no bill would be better than to have the already marginalized community put into the position of fighting itself for limited scraps of protection. The public often fails to differentiate between sexual orientation and gender identity, so attempting to seperate them will only cause problems socially and legally.
