| 5256 | Anonymous | If we could just find a job without complications, wherever we go and search a job it would be nice to get that job because is about surviving. Without job we just die.
So please people please why is it so hard to accept a tgirl in any job? why the discrimination? |
| 5257 | Patricia Barfield | I think that the Trangender community deserves to have the same rights as every one else and they should be protected. They are no different than any of us in the world. I am not transgender buy my spouse is and she needs to be protected. |
| 5258 | Nicole C. Raeburn, Ph.D. | Please do all you can to ensure that ENDA passes with protections for ALL members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. Trans-inclusive ENDA is a must for true equality! |
| 5259 | Anonymous | I begin by stating that I am a 53 y/o straight female.
I believe everyone is entitled to the right to live in a safe, caring environment. That means to me no discrimination based on race, gender or orientation.
To have eliminated what has to be one of the most misunderstood and under/misrepresented groups is appalling. This leaves the door wide open for all types of discrimination, be it finding a home, a job, insurance or just being able to walk down the street without fear of being harrassed or worse.
I urge you to please do whatever you can to get the ENDA to include ALL, not some, not most, but all. This is an important decision that will affect the lives of many. Hopefully it will also be a catalyst for hope, help and educating the general public.
Thank you. |

| 5273 | Anonymous | The most concerning point is, without gender expression being covered the majority of the LGB community is still at risk for discrimination. So they don't fire you for being gay or lesbian, no they'll just fire you for acting to girlie or manly. Don't they understand gender expression is the bases for most LGB members being discriminated against? |

| 5275 | Kaitlin C. "Kaiti" Kelly | Dear Speaker Pelosi,
I am a 49 year old Intersexed Female. I was born with a birth defect of having both sexual organs of the female/male. My life for the most part has been a living hellish nightmare of verbal assaults, violence to the point of being short of death (ie being beaten, sodomized, raped, stabbed, and shot at). Since I have always related as a female I have come to live as a pre-operative intersexed female with the intentions of correcting and removing that portion of genitalia which is "male". My principal complaint is that the State of NM refuses to change the sex on my birth certificate from male to female. The State of Texas refuses to give me a state issued driver'slicense or ID card because of my intersexed condition and the refusal of New Mexico's change of sex on my birth certificate which is needed in Texas to obtain an ID card or driver's license as a "female". I previously lived in the State of Oregon, where transgendered people are protected from discrimination and I was in fact issued an Oregon Driver's License with not only my legal name change but with the preferred sexual gender-identity of a "woman". Why does the law practice such idiotic hypocrisy? One state to another has a different law regarding this medical condition! Look it up! Its detailed in the Harry Benjamin Institute of Gender Study as being listed as Gender Identity Dysphoria. This is NOT A CHOICE THAT WE MAKE SPEAKER! Whether we are "intersexed" or Transsexual we have lived a life full of heart ache and pain and many of our brothers/sisters have committed needless suicides! What if "you" had a family member who was Transgendered or Intersexed, how would you treat them? You're in a position to make a huge difference in the lives of many who suffer this defect. What will you do? Thanks
Sincerely,
Kaiti Kelly |

| 5292 | Anonymous | My boyfriend is a transvestite. The thought of him being fired from his job that he does as well as any pants-wearing man, the thought of him out of work with bills to pay because he dresses differently at home seriously contradicts everything I believe America to be. |

| 5298 | Verle Wessel | The Declaration of Independence advocates for the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. For me life, liberty and happiness mean living openly and freely in society like any other woman. It has taken me years to make the transition from man to woman. Now that I am coming to the end of my gender journey, I feel that I should not have to face discrimination for not being the man I never was. |

| 5300 | Amy Moore | As a Transgender identified person, I am constantly in fear of being attacked and because there is no protection in jobs the Transgender community has a historically low level of employment and are often additionally discriminated against when applying for unemployment. I suggest you look at the statistics from the study that was conducted by the Transgender law Center and the Center for Lesbian Rights done on Transgender employment statistics in San Francisco. That report is available on either website.
As a citizen of California I encourage to please think of your home district and all the Transgender persons who live in it.
Thank you for taking the time to look into this matter. |
