Phillip G. Brown IIGod created me to be equal no matter who I sleep with or claim to like. I deserve to be treated equally.

AnonymousPrejudice is prejudice! Any form of prejudice against any people of the U.S is supposed to be against the law! It should also be against the law to show any prejudice to anone in other countries as well. Prejudice against TG people in general is totally wrong! To deny us our rights to freedom to express ourselves deprives everyone the freedom of expression by stating that "It is all right to express your selves but not that way!" I fail to see where that type of idea is Constitutional in any way! So, by saying that we cannot have our freedom to express ourselves openly and work as ourselves or have insurance like any other person I feel that our country is doing nothing but letting everyone down which can cause chaos in my jpersonal opinion. It seems to me that those who claim to be straight have the right to bulldog us into submission and get away with it most of the time as there seems always to be loopholes in any new laws. Give us a chance and I am pretty certain that once we are treated as equals that things will change for the better in the long run. The way things are now it is no wonder that so many TGs act the way they do! Like they are treated like scum because they are treated like scum! If you or another person were treated like low lifes then I am sure that you also would act out in some way. Anyway that you could I am sure! Sincerely Vivien Tena Britton

Brenda StovallI'm completely disappointed in Congress for its inability to stop the President from continuing a war we should never have been in, and then pushing a lame duck bill without gender protections to get headlines. I hope the headlines it's getting now for not listening to it's constituents on anything it does is what they expected.
AnonymousEnact an inclusive bill or none at all. This is what LGBT community wants. We have been very clear on this point. Transgender-inclusive language (gender identity and expression) helps an extremely marginalized group in our society. It also makes the protections much stronger for anyone who transgresses gender norms (including lesbian, gay, bisexual and heterosexual people). Please listen to us. This is my life.

Rachel Ann PorembaI am MTF Transgender and proud of who I am. Abe Lincoln once said we hold these truths to be true that all men are created equal. Every individual in this country deserves equal opportunity in all aspects of our daily lives. Transgenders are American citizens too. We are just as much Americans as Gays, Lesbians and Bi-Sexuals. All people of this country deserve the right to be individuals and not be held in fear of losing the ability to earn a living and enjoy the life that being American brings simply because who they find attractive or who they choose to have sex with or simply because you have a male body and a female mind and the the only way to correct that is to change your gender.

Sally MurrayLet's be a community...LGB and T, and push for equality for all! The decision to drop transgendered protection in ENDA was cowardly, bigoted and in very poor judgement on Barney Frank's part. Transgendered people deserve equal rights so please stop discriminating TG people and protect them instead.

Benjamin HanowellNumerous cultures across time and space have accepted gay, lesbian, transgendered, and transsexual individuals as, in sum, equally productive as anyone else. Why not our own?
Marcy JohnsenENDA must include gender identity and expression. Leave no one behind!

Mallory De RiggiAs a transgender woman, I am appalled that many of America's leaders still see transgendered individuals to be "things" rather than human beings. I am 22 years old from the east coast and I am working on my masters degree currently. It is very unfortunate that I will have to fight much harder to get a job, because of who I am. Gender Identity is just like race, creed or sexual orientation, it is something that can not be changed. Whether or not many Americans accept or understand what transgenderism is, our leaders need to do the right thing regardless of personal opinions.
Miranda McLaughlinIt's not equality if some people (in this case, transgender people) are left out.
Jonathan BeagleyI would rather give up my rights as a gay man than see a version of the ENDA that does not support transgender rights pass.
Joan CassattI want you all to know that I would like to be protected byn this bill as well as the next person. I am M-f TransGendered and I am proud of who I am .
Sara BeinertI have dear friends who are transgendered and they deserve the same protections as our gay brothers and sisters.

Margaret CollinsMadam Speaker, Gender identity, is the most important aspect of ones place in society. Being forced by family, friends, peers and others to live as someone you know you are not, exacts a degree of pain and disquiet to the individual that only those who experience it can truely know. Please Mrs. Pelosi, keep ENDA fully inclusive, not just for my sake, but for all the young people, who I hope won't experience the same fears and rejection that I and many others have. I dream that soon, the burden of everyone else's need to be happy with us, for NOT being OURSELVES, exacts a huge cost , mentally, physically, spiritually and too often our very lives. We are counting on you to carry on our fight. Thank you Margaret Collins

Rachel StringhamTaking "transgender" out of the bill is only supporting the transphobia of the nation. Queer rights should apply to everyone in the community, not just the "acceptable" types. Transgendered people receive so much hatred and misunderstanding and this bill would give justification to continue this mentality. Please wake up! We all deserve the right to have employment.

Miranda SturrockThis is an outrage that people with gender identity disorders shall be put into a new group that will in turn support discrimination, not that we don't have to deal with enough as it is.

Timna SieversDon't abandon the principles of equality for all for a bill that discriminates. If you do, you cede the moral high ground, and also will lose my support for the future.
Yvette PrattI do not want any part of my community left behind, It is not worth the price!! You are doing a diservice to the GLBT community by supporting this bill. Vote "NO"!
AnonymousAs a transgender student activist in an undergraduate program in political science right now, I think it is incredibly important that ENDA passes intact with guarenteed protections for transgender individuals.
