| 5002 | Jeannette Bessinger | There is no ethical reason to separate transgendered people from the rest of our society ~ every single American citizen deserves equal treatment and protection under our laws. |
| 5003 | Ian Atwood | I'm a genetic female and quite content with my body as it is, but I see absolutely no reason why people who weren't lucky enough to be born with minds that match their bodies should have to face the employment issues they do in America. As if changing what's in one's underpants changes how well one can perform the job one has trained & was hired for! It's absolute nonsense, and exactly the sort of discrimination ENDA needs to address. |

STOP BEING DISCRIMINATORY!!!! |

| 5008 | Dennis Driver | Madame Speaker,
Thank you for standing up for transgender civil rights. Protecting the transgender population helps protect the civil rights of all Americans.
Respectfully,
Dennis Driver |
| 5009 | Deanna Deville | Ms. Pelosi,
Currently, the transgendered are one of our smallest and most persecuted minorities. Thank you in advance for supporting inclusion of transgenders in ENDA.
Sincerely,
Deanna Deville |
| 5010 | Ann Schauffler | As a PFLAG member (which is an important part of my community identity) I strongly believe that we must
include the enter LGBT community in this bill. |
| 5011 | Karen Pailthorpe | I think everyone should be made to attend diversity training and "A Walk In My Shoe". How would things be if the shoe was on the other foot and it was the LGBT group making your life decisions. Diversity training should take place in schools as a life/learning type class. They can teach my kid to bake and sew, how about treating everybody equal! |

| 5015 | James "Sharon" Graham | We don't want special treatment. All we want is the same rights most others have. We are people and Americans, too! |

| 5017 | Anonymous | I presume the petition requires my legally assigned name as registered to vote; I am a college graduate coming out as a transgender woman late in life. A trans-inclusive ENDA *NOW* will enage many, many brilliant minds in the public good. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, a transgender, intersex, or gender-nonconforming mind as much as any other!
My thanks, Edna Victoria Camp |
| 5018 | Madelein McCormick | I think that the exclusion in this bill is absolutely ridiculous. |

| 5023 | Duane Dyckman | Ms. Pelosi,
This bill with Gender Identity protection is essential. We don't discriminate against those born with diseses or conditions. Despite what some church officials say, transgender is not a choice. The very fact that people are willing to give up their marriage, job and family should be evidence enough that it is a powerful force that needs to be answered. |

| 5030 | Lauren Calcote | There is no reason why sexuality or gender should impact an employee's productivity, and therefor it should never be used do discriminate against an employee. |
| 5031 | Janna Barkdull | You can never know the pain and suffering a Trans goes through unless you are one. I am not but I have seen first hand how devastating it can be. |
| 5032 | Penny Whipple | |
| 5033 | Isabella Acuna | As a transgendered woman,I am really sick and tired of not being able to find a job in the Bay Area and cannot believe trans people are not included.
There really needs to be a real drastic change. It really is unfair and very cruel, and goes to show that indeed America is fascist!
Why is it when I shop at a place, people are always "pretty" and predominantly white? It's rare when I see a transgirl like myself working at places like that,it makes me so mad. |

| 5036 | Anonymous | Trans gender people need to have their rights now! |
| 5037 | Adam Michael Kratt | |
| 5038 | douglas braun-harvey | gender and sexual orientation have been merged in the eyes of so many uninformed people. It is time for legislation to correct this misperception by clearly dilineating basic protections of non-discrimination for both. |

| 5044 | Vic | We the people...
THAT includes all types of people. |
| 5045 | Walker Burch-Lewis | |
| 5046 | Lydia Nicole Smith | for a very long time we transgender people have had to hide who we are. I believe this would be a step backwards for us. We are just normal people and we deserve the same freedoms and protection everyone else has. So please see it from our point of view and don't make us hide back in that dark closet. |
| 5047 | Bonnie | |
| 5048 | Robert E Oglesby | |
| 5049 | James Limbach | Non-inclusion of rights relating to gender behavior will put more people at risk than just transgenders. Gay men and lesbians who are "too femme" or "too butch" can be fired for those reasons, along with straight women who simply don't like make-up, etc.
A non-inclusive bill gives employers more precedent to enforce very strict and seperate gender rules for their employees. This could have an immense impact on a country which has in the past led the struggle for gender equality and diversity. |
