Traffic Safety Concern: Intersection of US Highway 285 and Kings Valley Drive

We, the undersigned, as citizens extremely concerned about traffic safety for our neighbors and all who travel US Highway 285, hereby respectfully request that the Colorado Department of Transportation make it a top priority to develop and implement solutions for the perilous intersection of US Highway 285 and Kings Valley Drive in Conifer (Mile Marker 232/233).
Furthermore, we request a public meeting with a representative of the Colorado Department of Transportation in the fall of 2016 to inform the community about the plans and timelines for improvements.

I have only lived in the Conifer area for one month. On the day I was driving up to view my home I witnessed the dead body of James Ellison (motorcycle rider) who was killed at this intersection. I am still haunted every single time I drive through this intersection. Please hear our request!
I am a local technician in the area, this is by far the most dangerous section of 285 right now! That is as it is right now, with the further development of the kings valley center, it will only get worse.
I am a realtor in the area and many customers don't want to buy homes in Kings Valley because of the road access to 285 and turning into traffic at high speeds. Please make Conifer safe for our neighbors.
There are too many potential actions at this intersection with limited visibility and vehicles accelerating as they are heading south on 285 toward Shaffers Crossing. The stream of near- misses, accidents, and deaths could be avoided with changes to the intersection. Thank you.
Please, PLEASE don't even consider putting in a traffic light! That would make the intersection far more dangerous than it already is. Either an overpass needs to be put there (like it should have been when they built the cneter in the first place) or the frontage road can be extended to the Richmond Hill overpass.
From Richmond hill to Shaffer's crossing needs to be widen, just like they have done from C470 to Richmond hill.

So dangerous! I live off kings valley and during heavy traffic it's very scary. Especially if a semi truck is pulled off on the shoulder, (which happens a lot) then you can't even see on coming traffic.
