We the undersigned know that Carson Palmer would rather retire than play again for the Cincinnati Bengals.  After years of loyal service and hard work, with nothing to show for it but losses, Carson has requested a trade.  Do the right thing, Mike Brown, and trade Carson Palmer.

Carson Palmer retiring is bad for football.  He is a good quarterback and former Pro Bowler who yes, might be on the decline, but is still better than a lot of starting quarterbacks.  Why let his talents go to waste?  If he doesn't want to play for you anymore, after years of suffering with your team, trade him and get the most bang for your buck.  Remember when you didn't trade an angry Chad Ochocinco for two first-round picks, then several years later traded him for fifth- and sixth-rounders?  Don't repeat the mistakes of the past, Mike Brown.  trade Palmer for either draft picks to help the team's future, or players who can make an impact now.  See through your stubbornness and trade Palmer for maximum value.

Not trading Carson Palmer is also bad for your quarterback of the future, Andy Dalton.  It is not good for a young quarterback to be surrounded by a mess like this.  If you fail to trade Palmer, his shadow will loom over Dalton and reporters will ask questions about Dalton's thoughts on palmer, not on his own performance.  Help Dalton's development by clearing the air and trading Palmer.

Mike Brown, we hope you do the right thing.  This has gone on for long enough, and the fans can't take this charade anymore.  Carson Palmer stuck by this team through thick and thin, and now it's time to let him go.  For the good of your fans, for the good of the franchise, for the good of Carson Palmer, and for the good of football.
