Name: Mark Bryan on Dec 29, 2006Comments: the skate park that was built in hele is a waste of money and time , the people who built it dint have a clue what they were doing , companys like that should be contacted by trading standards its a discrace . if a skate facilty is to be built in torquay shurly it should be designed by proffetional skateboarders , after all you wouldnt get a skater to design a golf course would you i think torquay would bennifit from having a skate plaza built which has been designed by the top world pros check out stoke ontrents skate plaza thats whats needed , not some bodge it and scarper company whos ramps look like theve come from mfi !!Flag

Name: Rob (the Mini Ramp Champ) Hodgson on Dec 29, 2006Comments: torquay, and its surrounding areas are home to some great talent, skateboarders and bmxers. i'm sure the council havn't even noticed the growth of local companies, ennvi skateboards, odessa footwear and inertia bikes. nick (build a big metal ring through the harbour) bye, should open his eyes and see just what talent is growing in the bay, and then leaving for better things.Flag

Name: Michael Morrissey on Dec 29, 2006Comments: ok, i bmx.. so hele skatepark is a no go area, last few times i was bothered to go up there the floor was littered with glass which means flat tyres for me...and a group of kids about 5 yrs old sliding down the flatbank. if one of these kids were to get in the way of one of us they would probably get really hurt and go get their mum/dad/older brother... last year sometime...some youths even attempted to set fire to the ramps and succeeded by destroyin half of the small quarter and the jump box... so would it be too much trouble to move the skatepark into a more respectable area also, being a torquay resident...getting over to brixham/paignton everytime i want to ride is abit o.t.t and seeing as whenever we ride places down at the seafront we normally get kicked out by security/council/police even though we are causing little or no disturbance. on another note, hele skatepark is not floodlit...so in the cold winter months does the council expect us to ride the park in the pitch black but because of the area the skatepark is in...flood lights would not be a great asset to put in because the lights would just get smashed / encourage more "chavs" into the area to hang around. we need a new skatepark desperately, please!Flag

Name: Mike Porter on Dec 29, 2006Comments: i heard it once, i've heard it a thousand times. residents of torquay compaining that skateboarders and on the streets making a racket and causing havok. these people, are wrong and dont know what their talking about. i used to skateboard not so long ago (approx 3-4 years ago) and the nearest 'skatepark' was in paignton. back then it wasnt really a skatepark but we made do with what we had. when they announced the opening of the torquay park in hele, i finally lost hope. i was desperate for a skatepark, but not enough to get my head kicked in. when i was younger i'd have loved to have a half decent skatepark. if the council stopped for a second and stopped spending money digging up roads, they might have some money and not be in soo much debt to be able to give people what they want!Flag

Name: Mike Taylor on Dec 29, 2006Comments: they fine us for skating the streets, in thge hope that we will get off the streets, but if there is no where else to go then what do they expect. but if we carried knifes, got drunk and started fights every night then that is acceptable come on torbay council, its supposed to be the english riviera, bring more tourism into the bad by building a decent park for people to visit. and start doing something about getting the drunks, drug addicts and gangs off the streets, and also you might wanna think about doing something to create more jobs in the area so there wouldnt be as many homeless people. who runs the council gold fishFlag
