In recent months it is believed that Toy and Miniature Australian Shepherds have been brought into Australia. Some of the people involved in this are current executive members of the Australian Shepherd Association of NSW. This has culminated with reports of Toy Australian Shepherds being included as part of the Australian Shepherd breed demonstration at the Sydney Pet & Animal Expo which is an event endorsed by Dogs NSW. To protect the integrity of the Australian Shepherd and prevent the recognition of Toy and Mini Australian Shepherds in Australia, we the undersigned concerned Australian Shepherd owners, exhibitors and breeders call upon the ANKC to reject any application to have Toy and Miniature Australian shepherds recognised as pure bred dogs in Australia.

Becky Lueth, United States7 years ago Comments: The Australian Shepherd should not have a "variety" added. The Aussie came from the US and does not have a variety in AKC or ASCA. These Mini's need to have their own name and quit hanging onto the tails of the Aussies.
