We the undersigned are asking that the Tinley Park Town Pointe Association Board and Property Management Company revise the current pet rules and limits to match those of the Village of Tinley Park, IL. The Tinley Park Code of Ordinances, Chapter 91, allows for up to 3 animals per home with no weight restrictions.

Pet Limit Laws are arbitrary and intrusive. How are pet limits determined? Just an arbitrary number chosen. For Town Pointe Townhomes, that limit is one pet under 35 pounds. Even apartments allow for 2-3 pets. How are pet rules enforced? Enforcement is also arbitrary and usually only enforced due to complaints.

Changing the pet limits of the Town Pointe Association Declarations & By-laws to meet those of the Village of Tinley Park:

• Will allow all residents of the Town Pointe Subdivision to be held accountable to Village rules, regulations, fines and citations
• Eliminate having different policies for single family homes and townhomes
• Encourage responsible individuals to provide a good home for more needy animals
• Encourage pet loving parents to move into the area (subdivision is located adjacent to the new Canine Campus Dog Park) if they can have up to 3 pets.
• Enable the Association Board & Management Company to focus on other issues that impact the homes and lives of the townhome residents.
• Allow for more foster homes for homeless pets that would assist with helping with the already overcrowded shelters.
• Keep families from moving out or not purchasing homes due to the current pet limits.
