We the Town of Oyster Bay Residents do not feel we should be charged to participate in "Open Court." There has been some discussion of the Hicksville Athletic Center inquiring and planning to implement a fee per quarter and/or annually in order to participate in Open Court Basketball. As a proud Town of Oyster Bay resident, this absolutely unacceptable. The reason this center is prosperous and active in the community is due to Town of Oyster Bay taxes. The staff that runs this facility are Town workers who receive a paycheck from the Town regardless if it overseeing this Center or working in other sectors of the Town. This is last of the many places that residents can go and enjoy a game of pick-up Basketball, without being obligated to a fees. Please reconsider your discussion of the possibility of fees associated with this Center. For all Residents that look forward to playing Basketball on OPEN COURT nights, please get behind this cause and let's make a stand!
