The petition

On 30th April 2009 the Scottish Government announced details of its £60m of funding to assist town centre regeneration across Scotland.

As Scotland’s largest town, Paisley deserves to be the biggest beneficiary of this long delayed fund. If Paisley’s full bid is successful the town centre will receive an additional £3.7m investment. This much needed investment would help enhance Paisley’s image, attract people and businesses to the area, boost community pride and support the local economy.

The bid is for:
- Acquisition of former Arnotts site
- Conversion of former Littlewoods store and YMCA building
- Public transport and car park improvements to Central Road and Piazza
- Road improvements at Gordon Street
- Environmental and shop front improvements to vacant units
- Events shelter at County Square

By signing up below, I am co-signing Wendy Alexander's submission to Scottish Government Minister John Swinney supporting Paisley's bid to the Town Centre Regeneration Fund.

(By responding to this petition I realise my details will be recorded safely and may be forwarded in confidence to the appropriate Scottish Government office. I understand that I may receive further updates from Ms Alexander in future. I realise that my name will appear on the 'signatures' page relating to this submission)
