We, the undersigned, call on Simcoe County District School Board and the Municipality of Adjala-Tosorontio to consider Tosorontio Public School as part of the Capital Strategic Plan to rebuild a new school for our community.
It is not acceptable that the current public school is situated within metres of the area landfill. Landfills cause a host of diseases, including cancer. It is time to end overcrowding at our school, with inadequate washroom facilities, a gym that is too small to accommodate all parents, a small library which hinders learning through reading potential, and no lunchroom.
We support the efforts of members of School Council and other organizations in order to accelerate construction of a new school.
