| 508 | Tracy Bradley | I live in an apartment, so obviously cannot have chickens. However, when I eventually move to a house I would like to, in addition to growing vegetables. Not only would this be a self-sufficient method of feeding myself and my family (I also support local farmers by buying directly from them whenever possible), it would also allow me to create and maintain an environmentally-friendly garden/landscape and cut down on the amount of household waste heading to landfill (via feeding and/or composting).
I also think that the ability for individuals to grow their own food is an inalienable right. It's empowering, and fosters a sense of self-sufficiency AND community - since the liklihood of sharing eggs with neighbours is high. |

| 521 | Sabrina Malach | Im really tired of paying $6 for eggs. As a kid, our neighbor had chickens and we loved playing with them. Having them around instilled a deep appreciation of food within me. It's time to bring them back tot ehcity. |

| 528 | Bernadette Barnes | Brilliant, green idea! If the City of Toronto is in ernest about wanting to reduce solid waste, this would be an ideal solution. |

| 531 | Karuna Samantha Premdas | Chickens are wonderful creatures capable of being classed as a domestic pet, through their ability to understand and love their care giver. I have had chickens for 19 years and have always cared for them in all ways. |

| 533 | Jeremy Vandermeij | Having chickens is a bold step towards a more sustainable future. Being able to produce your own food has the potential to reconnect urbanites with their food. This disconnection between people and their food/landbase is the key issue at the base of the problem of overconsumption and lack of care for the environment. |

| 539 | Brian Young | I'm old enough to remember when you could buy a live chicken in Kensington Market. If there are health issues I think Toronto can find ways to handle them. Chicken manure is rated one of the best natural fertilizers and anyone can compost it to make it pathogen free. |
