Dear Mr.President

My name is Juan Ignacio Uribe-Tellez and I'm a student from Irondale High school. I'm also a student in my U.S Government/Politics and we are doing this Civil Action Project. We had to pick a certain topics for our projects and I have decided to choose minimum wage as a topic.

I believe that this is a very conflicted topic in our country as many do want the minimum wage to be raised as this would help with inflation, decrease turnover rate, reduce expense for social programs, more opportunity, and economic stimulus. And some don't want the minimum wage to be raised as this would bring layoffs, fewer hiring, price increases, competition will intensify, and applied inconsistently.

In Minnesota, where I reside, since August 1st, 2015, the minimum wage is $9.00 an hour for large employers and $7.25 an hour for smaller employer like the nationwide minimum wage of $7.25.

I am writing this petition to have a raise to the nationwide minimum wage in every state with an appropriate payment that's equal to everyone. There are 30 or more states that have the highest minimum wage while the rest of states that have the same or lower minimum wage.

There many pro and cons, but I believe that we have to be an nation that gives an equal amount of payment to help those who might not have the equal payment.
